Summer Nights at Knott’s Berry Farm is their first annual event of this type. Based off of Taiwanese night markets and which were popularized as the 626 Night Market here in Arcadia and Costa Mesa, in Southern California. Read more about the 626 Night Market here.

This night market is small but I suspect that if it catches on, more booths will be added next year. There were 4 different food stalls: Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and Vietnamese. And I think one game stall and four retail booths. The tea selling booth also sold boba drinks. We sampled the garlic beef noodles, kimchi beef tacos, Japanese cheesecake, sesame red bean balls, and mango bingsu. All were tasty and a good sized portion too. My favorite was the mango bingsu, the condensed milk drizzle and the generous serving of mango pieces on the shaved ice was perfect for the warm weather. It’ll run through the summer, we will definitely be back time permitting. We highly recommend visiting Knott’s during its newest event.

Note: We went on 06/16/2026, Tuesday.

Ghost Town Alive!

It was so much fun! The actors and scenarios made it so remarkable. Knott’s went back to its roots when ghost town was the original entertainment for people waiting Chicken Dinners. Ghost Town, Calico was filled with “Old West” actors. The actors were in old time outfits of the Old West, its 1875. The schoolhouse had a liberal headmistress. The town hall had the elderly mayor and his assistant. Plus the town lawyer is out and about too. The Post Office was open, with a clerk behind the counter. The Post Office is never open, but it was during this event. Next to it, the newspaper, Calico Gazette, press office was also occupied on-and-off. The leading reporter was about the town getting stories and gossip. The leading reporter’s assistance was manning the press office and occasionally wondering off to watch and catch a story or follow a lead. The assay office, barber shop, and laundry was also open, which is saying something cuz these never are. The weaver woman was there. She was amazing, her skills. You need to see her in-person. She wasn’t just an actor but had the old times skills to back it up: lace making, wool-cotton made from fiber to a spinning wheel to yarn. She’s amazing. It’s not skills you see everyday. The blacksmith was there as usual, hammering away. If you come early in the day you can order a personalized iron pieces, limited number per day.

And what would an old west town be without the outlaws. The bandits saunter around the town and other civilians found through out the town. There was good-o-clean fun involving park-goers, scenarios to engage, dancing, music. There was also specific ghost town grub for the special event but we were so engrossed with the actors that we didn’t even look for specialty items.

Stop by the town hall and be made a honorary citizen of Calico. Interact with the actors and just enjoy yourself. It’s loads of fun.
