Rimmel Japan Chocolat Sweet Eyes Eyeshadows

Rimmel is a universal makeup brand however, there are product release differences by country. Rimmel is a drug store priced brand. But these aren’t avaiable in the US (darn, but its expected). The makeup reminds me of Cover Girl or Maybelline. Like similar Japanese brand make ups, this has got shimmer, and lots of it. The eyeshadow palettes I’m posting about today are stuff I saw in Japanese fashion beauty magazines and also online. Here’s Japan’s Rimmel website for your viewing pleasure (Rimmel JP).

If you like what you see and you’re wondering where to get your hands on these?  Just like many other Asian products is available in Japan, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Korea. If you got those friends in these places or are visiting! You can also purchase online using eBay or Amazon Japan. Eyeshadows featured below are listed on the Rimmel website as 1600 Yen, which is about $15-16 US dollars. Remember, exchange rates fluctuate. And when buying through a secondary source there can be high mark ups. I got mine two through Amazon Japan, and each at the listed yen price. Total was about $36 including shipping to the states.

015 Strawberry Chocolate from Rimmel Website

First up, MO015-Strawberry Chocolate. This palette comes in this case with the Britian theme on it or the regular one without the theme. Prices do not vary with the theme, I got this one with, it seemed cuter. Below is my photo of the colors.

Shimmer all around! Let’s work our way from top to bottom. A common light beige on the warm side, then a darker beige-pink, then a light brown which applies medium-dark, next on the bottom left is a brown and finally to the right a high shimmer beige. The two on the bottom are more for lining the eyes. The palette comes with a double headed sponge, one side flat and other a pointed one. I generally don’t like warmer colors because it doesn’t suit my complexion, but this one works on me. I think the in-person version looks at little more like is name, strawberry chocolate.

019 Blueberry Chocolate from Rimmel website

Next up, I’m looking at 019-Blueberry Chocolate. Below is my photo of the colors.

Break it down, top to bottom: light beige that leans toward pink, then a mauve, next medium brown that goes on light to medium intensity, followed by the bottom left milk chocolate brown, and right a high shimmery rose hue. This one was my first choice in terms of color. I really wanted to try this palette out. I wasn’t disappointed. The colors turned out to be similar to the website picture.

Comparing the two palette in the next picture, I knew I was going to love the Blueberry Chocolate, but the Strawberry Chocolate was a nice surprise. Oh and did I mention they smell really nice. Both palette have a pleasant scent to them. I’m also assuming all the Chocolate palettes in the collecion smell nice. Well, aside from the scent, I do give these everyday color palettes a thumbs up. Its a pity they aren’t sold here in the US, but Amazon Japan has got them and there’s sold at manufacturer listed price, so I’m definitely buying them again.
